Re-imagining Home

This project was designed to be created together by Story Rebels of all ages. They followed our story guides, Lisa and Hywel, across three different lands and explored the cave, the wasteland and the new world of Anksi. These settings provided a creative space for Story Rebels to make stories and fictional histories together using music, words, images, objects and materials. Following a narrative structure, activities started by mapping the setting and then moved into developing character and place. Story Rebels were encouraged to record their journey and share their stories by uploading their creations, changing the course of the narrative as they did so. This was a collaborative project by Story Makers Company, Leeds Beckett University, created with several brilliant story weavers.

Story Makers Company uses drama to raise awareness about human understanding and experience. The Reimagining Home project was designed to respond to a time of global crisis by celebrating the joy and wellbeing associated with ‘making’ creatively together. The project also explored eco-literacy or the understanding of the ways in which we can look after our planet, and global citizenship or the ways that we can live together in ethical and meaningful ways.

Let’s imagine a new world together!
